I am a Foundation Governor and a Structural Engineer by training. I have been involved with HJPS since its inception initially helping to manage the construction of the school and latterly as Chair of the Premises Committee and member of the Finance Committee. I am committed to supporting Jewish education and am also involved in Yavneh College. I have 3 children the youngest of whom finished at HPJS last year.
Elliot Cohen
I was elected as a parent governor at the end of 2006 and am now just over half way through my 4-year term. So far, I have been most involved with the admissions committee, helping to ensure our processes comply with the ever-changing legal requirements and working to make the system as fair as possible. My eldest son started at HJPS in 2000 and, please G-d, my youngest won't leave until 2017, so I hope to be able to make a contribution to our fabulous school for many years yet!

I have been a staff governor since the beginning of 2008 and have always had a keen interest in the development of the school. I have enjoyed contributing to the PR committee as well as representing the school at PSA meetings. Outside of school I am currently involved in a charity committee to raise awareness and funds for Chai Cancer Care. This September will mark the beginning of my third year in Upper KS2 and I am looking forward to many exciting new initiatives and opportunities that will continue to enhance the children’s education and learning experiences.

I am a Parent Governor and was elected by the parent body 3 years ago. I was delighted to accept my role and am honoured to be associated with the school. I have had two children at the school, my youngest is now in Year 4 and my eldest has graduated from HJPS and attends Yavneh College. I am involved in the Premises and PR Committees. I have helped prepare the School Travel Plan and the new school website. The school has been a tremendous journey for my family and it gives me great pleasure to help where I can.
Lorraine Rubin
I have been a class teacher at HJPS since 2003. I am married with three daughters. I have been involved with the Fun Day Committee and PTA of my daughters’ schools.
Ian Shaw
I am a Chartered Accountant working for a large property group and for a Charitable Foundation. I have considerable experience in the Charitable Sector both through my work and as a past Treasurer of a National Charity. I co-chair the Finance Committee in my role as a Governor. I am married to Tara with a son - Joseph - who is 5 months old. My other interests (prior to Joseph being born) include cycling and keeping fit. Now there is simply no time and my waistline is expanding accordingly!

I am 39 years old and live in Radlett with my wife Jo with three children aged 10, 8 and 5, all of whom attend HJPS. I am a Director of an import company based in Stanmore. I am delighted to recently be appointed a Foundation Governor of HJPS and sit on the Finance and Fundraising committees. I feel honoured to be in a position to work with the school through its second decade.
Daniel Summerfield
I am a Foundation Governor and also a director of the HJPS Trust, having served on the Governing Body for over 3 years. I serve as co-chair of the Finance Committee and have a specific responsibility for fundraising. I have two children at the school in Years 3 and 1 with another one starting in September. I live in Elstree and in real life work as an Investment Manager. I was elected to the Governing
Body at the end of the summer term 2008 and have been sitting on the Education
and Personnel and Governance Committees since the autumn. It has proved extremely interesting to see
another side to the school through the Governing Body’s work. My background and career to date are in
psychology, both educational and business, and I am able to draw on those
experiences, where appropriate, to contribute to the Governing Body’s
activities. I now work part-time in a
variety of freelance roles, which means I am also able to volunteer within the
school on a regular basis. I am married to David and we live in Letchmore Heath
with our daughter, Holly, who is in Year 3 at HJPS and enjoying her school life
very much. I also have two grown-up
stepsons and am a ‘step-grandma’!
